We came up with some ideas for several Wrought Iron  hardware pieces to use on the Main Truss, and on the interior Purlins, and set out to locate a Blacksmith to produce them for us.

We contacted several companies all across the country from New Hampshire to Wyoming, but never quite felt comfortable having these custom pieces made long distance. Click here for our original drawings.

Then one Fall morning we picked up a local VT paper on the way to Breakfast and found an article about a Local Blacksmith right there in our backyard. Click here to read the article.

We contacted the Mulhollands of Vermont Forging's and arranged for a site visit.

After meeting with them we realized that not only were they your typical Vermonters (kind, friendly, and just great people) but they also had the creative understanding to know,

exactly what we wanted. In fact after receiving the finished pieces, we realized they had taken our ideas to a new artistic level, beyond what we
